I received one year of credit 2 for that time in the service towards my 3 residency and after I left the service, I 4 became chief resident in the George Washington 5 University general surgery program until I left 6 there in 1968 and came to the Cleveland Clinic 7 for further training in thoracic surgery. 8 Q. And what was your training experience at 9 the Cleveland Clinic? 10 A. I spent two years of residency in 11 thoracic and cardiovascular surgery and 12 approximately six months as an associate staff 13 member before joining the staff in 1971. 14 Q. And did that complete your graduate 15 training, Dr. Loop? 16 A. Yes . 17 Q. Following completion of your graduate is training in cardiothoracic surgery, what did 19 you do? 20 A. Well, I joined the staff at the Cleveland 21 Clinic in 1971 and have been in the practice 22 there since. 23 Q. Doctor, what is your current position at 24 the Cleveland Clinic? 25 A. And how long have you held that position, 3 since when have you held that position? 4 A. 10 years. 5 Q- Doctor, are you board certified? 6 A. In general and thoracic surgery. 7 Q. What year were you board certified in 8 general surgery? 9 A . I believe 1970. 10 Q- That's correct, and in what year were you 11 Doard certified in thoracic surgery? 1 2 A . 1 9 7 1 . 13 Q. Doctor, I take it you're licensed to 14 practice medicine in the State of Ohio? 1 5 A . Yes . 16 Q. And when did you receive that licensure? 17 A. I believe it was a reciprocal licensure 18 that I obtained when I first started residency 19 tra in ing at the Cleveland C1 inic . 20 Q.
