 1 (Document marked Exhibit Sharps
 2 1 for identification.)
 3 LEWIS S. SHARPS, M.D., after
4 having been first duly sworn, was examined and
 5 testified as follows:
6 MR. SOCHANCHAK: My name is Paul
 7 Sochanchak. I represent Bryan Reppert. We're
8 here today to take the trial deposition of Dr.
9 Lewis Sharps. As this testimony is in lieu of
10 live testimony before the assigned Workers'
11 Compensation judge, Judge Liddy, all objections
12 must be stated on the record or will be deemed
13 waived. Is that agreeable?
14 MR. YOUNG: That's fine. I note
15 for the record that I'm Jonathan Young for the
16 defendant employer.
17 MR. SOCHANCHAK: I believe
18 there's also a stipulation as to Dr. Sharps as a
19 medical expert in the field of orthopedic
20 surgery.
21 MR. YOUNG: That's fine.

 1 BY MR. SOCHANCHAK:
2 Q. Dr. Sharps, do you have a copy of your
3 curriculum vitae in front of you?
 4 A. Yes, I do.
5 Q. I could give us a brief background of
 6 your medical experience?
7 A. I attended medical school at Thomas
8 Jefferson University Hospital from 1971 through
9 1975 and then entered into a surgical internship
10 at the same university hospital through 1976.
11 In 1976 I began my orthopedic specialty
12 training, which was also at Thomas Jefferson
13 University Hospital and extended through to
14 1980. In 1981 I became board certified by the
15 American Board of Orthopedic Surgery. In 1985 I
16 became a fellow of the American College of
17 Surgery. I have been in private practice since
18 1980 through the present time. I'm on the
19 full-time staff at Paoli Memorial Hospital,
20 Phoenixville Hospital, St. Francis Hospital in
21 Wilmington, Delaware and on the courtesy staff
22 of Bryn Mawr Rehab.
23 Q. Doctor, in the past ten years have you
24 had the opportunity to treat people who were
0007
 1 involved in automobile accidents?
 2 A. Yes, I have.
3 Q. Would that also include individuals
4 who have sustained injuries to their neck, back,
 5 shoulders?
